Students in Primary, Secondary, and High Schools.

Cultural Rationale

Public readings of classic works provide a way for generations to connect and celebrate the universal value of literature. In the context of International Book Day, this activity invites participants to rediscover Don Quixote, Miguel de Cervantes' masterpiece, considered one of the cornerstones of world literature.

As one of its most emblematic quotes reminds us:

"He who reads much and travels much, sees much and knows much."

The shared reading of this work aims to convey to students the value of imagination, critical thinking, and the capacity to dream that literature offers to all generations.

Objective

To foster a love of reading and introduce literary classics to new generations.

To offer students the opportunity to actively participate by reading excerpts from Don Quixote. To reinforce the understanding of the human, cultural, and universal values ​​present in the work.

To highlight the importance of returning to the classics as touchstones of humanity, critical thinking, and literary imagination.

Continuous Reading of Don Quixote

Each educational center may designate a group of participating students.

Each student will read a page of Don Quixote as an act of homage and an expression of reading and knowledge.

The reading will be continuous, generating a flow of participation that symbolizes the cultural and literary transmission between generations.

Closing of the event

Final remarks on the importance of classical literature and its relevance in education and in today's society.

Participation of Educational Centers

Costume-Based Activities as Literary Characters

To celebrate Book Day, participating educational centers are invited to have their students attend dressed as important characters from Don Quixote.

This initiative aims to:

Encourage creativity and imagination.

Strengthen the connection between students and literary characters.

Transform the day into a vibrant literary event, where books "come to life" through their protagonists.

Costume-based activities are not mandatory, but are proposed as a fun and educational supplementary activity that will visually enrich the event and encourage student participation.

Note for Schools:

Schools are kindly requested to confirm their attendance as soon as possible, as well as the number of participating students, in order to organize chapters and pages for reading and send them to each school in a timely manner. Once the number of participants is confirmed, we will send the relevant information to ensure a smooth and effective event. In any case, further information will be sent.
